There is hope

There Is Hope

To my dear reader,

I don’t know what troubles face you today, I don’t know what struggles you have endured yesterday, and I don’t know what battles await you tomorrow. We all at some point in our lives will face something we cannot imagine a way through. We struggle and struggle and can’t seem to find a solution, or we’re put in completely unfair and terrible situations.

I am glad to say that I write with the most wonderful news. Although all of our struggles are unique, our lives so vastly different and complex, there is a constant and universal truth for each of us to see. An all encompassing answer to life’s many questions.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:

It is written so many times in the Bible, so many times so that we may ingrain this message into our minds and keep it in our hearts. In our moments of trial and triumph, in pain and in great joy, in despair and hope, we may always keep the truth in our hearts: Jesus Christ loved us so much, that even in the midst of our evil and wrongdoing, he suffered and died that we may have redemption.

In my own life, I have been through difficult things. I have sat at the edge of my bed and wondered, “How in the world am I going to get through this? This is impossible.” And at the time, I was right. On my own, it was impossible.

But one day, I went to church and decided that this time, I was in it all the way. I kept hearing about all this God stuff, and although I believed in a noncommittal way, I began to make an active effort to learn and pray.

Let me tell you, I have never been so uplifted. I have never been so hopeful for my future, so excited because when I wake up in the morning, I know I have a purpose. I have never been so joyful in my life. I look back at the time before I knew the truth, and although I thought everything was OK, I thought I was doing alright, but I had no idea just how empty I was, not until I was filled with the truth.

But it’s a choice. God gave us free will because he wants us to love Him, and love that is enforced is not true love. So right now, as you read this letter, I beg you to give God a chance. Please, for the sake of yourself, and for the sake of others that you could one day be the difference maker for.

Let God into your life. He won’t force his way in, he won’t make you do anything, but he loves you beyond words. The story of Jesus was not just for everyone else, it was for you, you who is reading this letter.

John 7:17
Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

I pray that you make the choice to allow God to work in your life, because he is ready and waiting for you when you make that decision.

P.S.: If you want some good verses to read over, I very much recommend these: James 1:5 and Matthew 11:28 (which is one of my favorite verses.)
